The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has welcomed the efforts led by Libya’s Attorney General in Benghazi to investigate the enforced disappearance of Member of Parliament Ibrahim Al-Darsi.
In a statement, the UN expressed hope that this step would help uncover the fate of Al-Darsi and hold those responsible accountable. The mission also called for full and transparent cooperation from all relevant Libyan authorities with the Attorney General’s office.
UNSMIL affirmed its readiness to provide necessary support to ensure the completion of investigations and to help answer the legitimate questions of Al-Darsi’s family and the Libyan people.
