The Municipality of Al-Qatron has inaugurated the new Anti-Smuggling and Anti-Drug Department, along with the Border Control Department of the Customs Authority, with direct support from General Staff Major General Saddam Khalifa Haftar.
This step aims to reinforce security and border monitoring in southern Libya.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Major General Jamal Al-Ammami, Head of the Southern Reorganization Committee, Major General Adel Al-Awami, Director of the Customs Authority, as well as several officers, security officials, and local dignitaries, underscoring the partnership between state institutions and the local community in fostering stability.
The Southern Reorganization Committee confirmed that this initiative is part of a comprehensive plan to rebuild and strengthen security institutions, enhance their effectiveness, and intensify efforts to combat smuggling and organized crime, thereby safeguarding the nation and its citizens.
