Libyan political analyst Abdullah Al-Dibani emphasized that forming a new, unified executive authority with limited and clearly defined powers is essential to ensuring a neutral and secure environment for elections in Libya.
He argued that any authority tasked with overseeing the transitional phase must be built on national consensus and be free from narrow political interests.
Al-Dibani stressed that a new government should focus solely on administrative and service-related responsibilities, avoiding interference in legislative or political affairs.
He warned that continuing the current state of institutional confusion would erode public trust and compromise the credibility of the electoral process.
He concluded that international support for Libya’s elections depends on the presence of a legitimate and unified authority, capable of backing the electoral commission, securing logistics, and stabilizing the country throughout the transitional period.
