CNN reported that the U.S. State Department denied any connection between recent meetings in Washington and the deportation of criminals to Libya.

A spokesperson clarified that the discussions with the Libyan delegation, led by Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, did not include any talks related to deportation.

A Libyan official also told CNN that the topic was never raised and that all discussions followed the official agenda. Sources familiar with the meetings confirmed that the issue of deportation was not on the table.
